Top 5 sources of Mad Libs online:
When we first discovered Mad Libs (the official version)* we ordered the book right away but then we had to wait for it to arrive. Meanwhile, I impatiently went on a Google search to see if there were any similar games we could access online, immediately. And, of course, there were. Lots.

Some of the Mad-Libs-type games I found online were completely __________ and others were quite __________. (Forgive me!) Actually, a really good way to locate free, downloadable and printable fill-in-the-blanks games online is to do an image search. You are sure to find some that you will enjoy while you wait for your Mad Libs book to arrive.
The official Mad Libs website is a good place to start. There are three main pages that will interest you, if you’re looking for games to play Right Now.
Mad Libs Printables – Here is a nice little collection of Mad Libs activities in pdf format that you can download and print, for free.
Mad Libs Apps – Mad Libs have a selection of apps (available on both Apple and Android) so that you can play the game on the go. As well as the classic version, there are also Mad Libs apps for several different themes. Wimpy Kid Mad Libs, anyone?
Teaching Resources – The official Mad Libs curriculum guide for Grades 2-6. This contains lots of great ideas for playing with words and learning about word types.
I also found some unofficial Mad Libs online:
Mad:)Takes – “188 free online ad-lib word games” (it says at the top of the site). These are genuinely online games: you fill in the word list on screen and Mad:)Takes auto-fills the blanks to give you the completed text. High five to the guy who cleverly coded this!
Silly Little Cat – Well, ok, that’s me. I’ve written lots of great Mad-Libs-style games that are free for you to play online right now. My current favourite is Yoga Class With Marjorie. My Mum loved Neighbourhood Gossip.
Follow the cat and have a browse.
