Yoga Class With Marjorie

Well, I went to yoga class yesterday with Marjorie and it was something of an eye-opener. I’ve never seen a woman so bendy. It turns out she could wrap her BODYPARTS around her BODYPART, while I could hardly touch my BODYPARTS.

“This next pose is called the NOUN,” said the teacher, proceeding to fold her BODYPARTS and bend her BODYPART slowly forward until her BODYPART was touching the floor. Marjorie folded herself up like a NOUN, of course, all the while glancing smugly at me.

“Only go as far as you are comfortable,” said the teacher, so I carefully tilted my BODYPART and placed my BODYPARTS on the mat. I couldn’t help noticing that my BODYPART was sticking up higher than anyone else’s. Marjorie shot me a sympathetic glance. She seemed to think it was a competition to do all the moves fastest and furthest. At one point I was afraid she might get her BODYPART stuck behind her BODYPART. She looked a bit flustered for a moment but then broke free.

We finished with a meditation, lying on our backs, which is one thing I could manage perfectly well. It was a bit hard to concentrate though because Marjorie had meditated a bit too deeply. She had fallen asleep and was VERBING loudly.

I think I’ll go by myself next time.
